British politicians and Iraq
Iraq-UK, Politics, 1/3/2003

Charles Kennedy, leader of the British Democratic Liberal party, which is considered the third largest political party in Britain, has urged the British prime minister Tony Blair yesterday to offer the UN inspectors for the Iraqi weapons enough time to reveal the fact on the Iraqi weapons program before taking any decision to attack Iraq.

Kennedy has renewed his rejection to the war against Iraq and called on the British prime minister Tony Blair to concentrate on internal issues in Britain.

For his part, prominent figure at the British Labor party Lord Helly has urged the British prime minister against the catastrophic consequences of attacking Iraq and called for avoiding the mistake committed by Former British Prime minister Sir Anthony Eden when he took part in the tripartite aggression against Egypt in 1956.

Lord Helly explained that Britain is facing urgent internal issues that need to be solved instead of adventuring in foreign wars far from its borders.
