New York Times: Saudi Arabia will permit US to use its airspace to attack Iraq
The paper indicated that the Saudis have permitted in secret since two months American planes stationed in Saudi Arabia to strike goals in southern Iraq, while such missions used to be launched earlier from Kuwait.

Jordanian parliamentary elections by the beginning of January
High ranking Jordanian political sources stressed that the Jordanian king Abdullah II will order the government in the first half of January to make the general parliamentary elections next spring. The elections which have been postponed more than one time and provoked internal and external problems.

Saudi Arabia's foreign minister Prince Saud al-Faisal yesterday arrived in Khartoum in a one- day visit. He told reporters at the airport that his talks with the Sudanese officials will center on bilateral relations and "prospects of developing them." During this visit a framework bilateral agreement on cooperation between the two states will be signed in addition to establishing a joint ministerial committee.

The second ranking official at the Yemeni Socialist Party, Jarullah Omar, died on Saturday after he was killed by an unidentified person as he was attending a conference for the opposition Yemeni reforms party in Sanaa. A Yemeni security sources said that Omar died of his wounds after he was admitted to hospital.
