Sudan, Local, 12/30/2002

The Sudanese security authorities on Saturday brought 13 persons for trial at a criminal court as they were arrested at Riyadh quarters in Khartoum displaying a piece for Uranium for sale at a price of 5 million dollars.

The Sudanese daily al-Sahafa said yesterday that among the convicted persons are four state employees, two traders; two teachers and one agronomist, while the main convicted persons who brought the Uranium escaped.

The paper explained that the security forces arrested the convicted persons upon the selling operation of the Uranium after the sides concerned asked for testing the material.
