Government vows to cooperate with human rights advisory council
Morocco, Politics, 12/28/2002

Moroccan human rights minister, Mohamed Aujjar, renewed on Thursday the government's commitment to cooperate with the human rights advisory council (CCDH) to consecrate human rights in Morocco.

In a meeting with the newly-appointed CCDH chairman and secretary general, respectively Omar Azziman and Driss Benzekri, Aujjar stressed the need to take all initiatives and enforce all measures to guarantee these rights "in keeping with the political and modernist project of H.M. King Mohammed VI."

Aujjar underscored the historic initiative taken by the sovereign to adapt the structure to the Paris convention of the national institutions in charge of human rights. He added that the new composition of the council will give it a new dynamic and meet Morocco's expectations regarding human rights promotion.
