Egypt, the AL denounce Sharon's accusations against Syria, Iraq
Egypt-Syria, Politics, 12/28/2002
The Egyptian foreign minister Ahmad Maher yesterday denounced recent statements made by the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon in which he accused Iraq of transporting unconventional weapons to Syria.
In a press statement, Maher questioned "how an official man can say unconfirmed news and spread rumors in an unveiled manner of a definite objective." He described Sharon's statements as allegations "not worthy to be commented on."
In the same context, the secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa said that Sharon's statements "are ridiculous and cannot be taken seriously because its revealed intention is clear and known."
