India for boosting relations with Syria

Secretary of the India's Foreign Ministry, Kanwal Sibal, praised Syria's leadership on the Arab and international arena.
In a statement to reporters on Friday, Sibal described the Syrian - Indian relations as strong and that New Delhi has always sought to boost these relations.
He expressed his country's opposition to any US. unilateral military act against Iraq, pointing out to the international community that Iraq doesn't possess any mass destruction weapons.
In another development, Syria's Ambassador to India Mohsen al- Khaiyer was awarded with the best Ambassador Prize for the 2002. The prize was awarded by former Indian Prime Minister, Andr Komar Gogeral, for the ambassador's good efforts exerted to boost bilateral relations.
