Syria refutes Sharon's allegations
Syria-Israel, Politics, 12/28/2002
Syrian Information Minister, Adnan Omran, has described the accusations of Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon, regarding the transfer of Iraqi arms to Syria as lies aiming at covering the internal and external Israeli problems.
In an interview broadcast by Monte Carlo Radio yesterday, he stressed that "the aim of these lies is to divert the international community's attention from the Israeli biological and nuclear arms and its concern over the dangerous consequences of possessing these arms on the regional and world peace."
Regarding the fact that Israel is one of the countries that has refused to adhere to the rules of the International Atomic Energy Agency and has refused to sign the agreement of atomic arms signed in 1969.
He added that "Sharon's second aim of his accusations is to divert the Israeli community and the whole world's attention from the Israeli scandals announced lately about bribery within the Israeli government especially in buying and selling votes at the Israeli Likud party elections and between the senior officials in the Israeli government."
