Turkish defense minister: relations with Israel are positive

The Turkish defense minister Wajdi Ghonol on Tuesday evening upon his meeting with the Israeli army chief of staff Moshe Yaloun described relations between Turkey and Israel as positive.

For his part Yaloun said that these visits are important and contribute to strengthening relations between the armed forces between the two sides.

Earlier in the day, Tuesday, the Israeli army chief of staff met with his Turkish counterpart Helmi Ozok and discussions dealt with developments in the region and cooperation in the area of military training as well as joint military industries.

In the same context the Turkish daily Hurriyet which is close to the Turkish military establishment said that the USA proposed to Turkey and Israel to install anti Skud missiles defense missiles as a precaution against possible missile attacks from Iraq.
