Bahraini parliament hold its first session

The Bahraini parliament which is composed of 40 parliamentarians elected in October this year, yesterday started its work officially when it held its first session in the first legislative session.

Together with the Shoura council which is composed of 40 parliamentarians appointed by the king, this 40 elected members council compose the Bahraini National Council ( the parliament ).

The speaker of this council Khaleifa al-Zahrani told the parliamentarians during this session that the government submitted four draft projects to the council for discussions during the coming session. The parliamentarians will study these projects. Among these are the draft law of the economic activities of the citizens of the Gulf (GCC) member states in Bahrain and another draft project of public health.

The parliamentarians council holds its weekly session every Tuesday while the Shoura council holds its session every Monday.
