Fatah, Hamas to resume dialogue next week

The two Palestinian resistance movements Fatah and Hamas stressed yesterday they will resume their dialogue in Cairo next week. A dialogue they had started by the beginning of November with the aim to maintain internal unity and coordinate means of challenging the Israeli occupation.
The secretary general of the Palestinian authority al-Tayeb Abdul Rahim who is also a member of the central committee of the Fatah movement stressed that the dialogue will be resumed next week under an Egyptian patronage.
For his part, the official at the Hamas movement Abdul Aziz al-Ranteisi said that no precise date has been yet fixed for the session of the dialogue which will be resumed next week.
Al-Ranteisi stressed that the coordination committee which includes representatives for the two Palestinian resistance movements will discuss in its meeting in Gaza next week internal issues which are of concern to the Palestinian people, and will discuss the possibility of expanding dialogue to cover other groups, as well as the issue of facing the occupation and discussing internal problems and finding solutions for them.
However, the joint coordination committee which includes leading figures from Hamas and Fatah will hold a meeting next week in Gaza in preparations for sessions of dialogue in Cairo.
In a statement yesterday, the Hamas movement stressed that dialogue it holds with the Fatah movement and other Palestinian groups all come in compliance with its policy to embark on dialogue as a means of understanding and to reach common terms. The movement also stressed that these dialogues aim at enhancing the Palestinian national unity and protecting resistance programs and strengthening the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in confrontation of the Israeli occupation.
