King Mohammed visits exhibition on Arab horsemen in paris
Regional-France, Culture, 12/21/2002
Morocco's King Mohammed VI, accompanied by Prince Moulay Rachid and the Princesses, and by President Jacques Chirac of France, visited in Paris on Friday an exhibition on "Arab horses and horsemen in Oriental and Western arts."
The exhibition, to remain open to the public until next March 30, features several themes related to "Islam's equestrian heritage," "the horse, companion of man," "the horse, hero in religious and secular literature," "the radiance of oriental equestrian sport in the west."
The exhibition, held at the Arab World Institute (IMA) of Paris, highlights admiration to Arabian thorough-bred horses, symbol of power, prestige and distinction.
King Mohammed VI and President Chirac signed the visitor's book, in IMA, an institution evidencing the sound ties binding France to the Arab states.
