Gulf summit today in Qatar
Gulf-Qatar, Economics, 12/21/2002

The 23rd Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states summit will open today in Doha and will witness an important step towards economic integration. This summit is expected to adopt a united customs federation among its 6 member states which should be implemented as from January 2003 as an introduction to launch the common Gulf currency in a date not to exceed 2010.

The Iraqi and Palestinian files will be present during the deliberations of the summit, for which the preliminary ministerial commit of the summit placed final touches on its agenda yesterday afternoon.
