Egypt may lose 8 billion in the Iraqi war

The Egyptian minister of state for foreign affairs Feyza Abu al-Naja said yesterday that an American attack against Iraq may lead to Egyptian losses of 6 to 8 billion dollars.
She explained to Egyptian journalists from Washington, where she is having talks with American officials that "great losses will be inflicted in the sector of tourism and exports and the revenues of the Suez Canal and that these losses will affect some 200,000 persons working in these fields."
