Syrian draft resolution to condem Israel for killing 3 UN employees
Syria-Palestine, Politics, 12/18/2002

Syria has presented on behalf of the Arab Group in UN Security Council a draft resolution that condemns Israel's killing of three of the United Nations employees and demolishing a food store that belongs to the international organization in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Syria's permanent representative to the United Nations, Mikhail Wahbeh, affirmed last night that the draft resolution condemns Israeli violation to 4th Geneva Convention that stipulates civilian protection during war times.

He made clear that this event proves that Israel prevents humanitarian aids to reach the Palestinian people.

The draft was due to be discussed by the council's members later yesterday.

Israeli forces also killed one of the British employees working for UNRWA last month and additionally it killed two others last week which raises the number of the killed international employees by Israeli soldiers up to five.
