Spanish opposition party PSOE satisfied over Benaissa-Palacio meeting
Morocco-Spain, Politics, 12/14/2002
Spanish major opposition party PSOE voiced satisfaction over Wednesday's meetings in Madrid between Morocco's Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister, Mohamed Benaissa, and Spanish peer Ana Palacio. The spokesman of PSOE's group in the lower Chamber of Spanish parliament, Manuel Marin, said his party welcomes the resumption of talks between Morocco and Spain, which he termed as "very positive."
He further said in a statement to Spanish news agency "EFE" that "these first steps will lead to a full-fledged normalization between Rabat and Madrid," deploring, however, that the Spanish government didn't brief his party on the content of the meeting.
