Kuwaiti paper: Iraq plans destruction acts against Kuwait
Kuwait-Iraq, Politics, 12/14/2002

A Kuwaiti paper said well-informed intelligence sources concerning internal Iraq said that the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein has issued a decree for reactivating field work of groups that are so called "the Kuwaiti right league," chaired by Shaalan al-Shummari, through preparing destruction plans inside Kuwait through the weapons-free area on the borders between the two states targeting the Kuwaiti infrastructures and the American forces in Kuwait.

The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Aam issued yesterday quoted the sources as saying that in the framework of these plans, "ambush kidnapping groups" were formed and its leadership was assigned to the Lt. Gen. Ojeil al-Ojeil, of the Iraqi military intelligence.

These groups, the Kuwaiti paper added, is directly supervised by Abed Hammoud, the personal guard for the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. The task of these groups is to attack border areas and kidnap workers in the weapons - free area and publish bulletins to frighten the Kuwaitis and lower their morale.
