Some 271 American soldiers were poisoned in Kuwait

Some 271 American soldiers stationed in Kuwait had health problems that seemed to be resulting from a food poisoning whose nature was not known.

A spokesman for the American army said that 13 soldiers are still receiving medical treatment while others were treated by the naval forces and the Marines.

The spokesman added that so far the reality of what the soldiers had is not known. The spokesman refused to link that to a "terrorist" act. He added that the American army preventive medical team are making tests on water and the food in search of a Bacteria.

But the German News agency said that the American army used to supply the soldiers in the camp with food from its stores, and that it had also bought local ( Kuwaiti ) products.
