Efforts to establish an Investment Bank in Syria

Syria's Minister of Industry Issam Zaim and Executive Director of the Islamic Est. for Private Sector Development, Ali Abdul-Aziz Suleiman, discussed yesterday the Islamic Est. program for financing the private sector in Syria in line with the socio-economic plan targets.

During the meeting, Zaim reviewed the government policy on development stressing that Syria also supports the industrial public sector the same as it supports the private sector in order to activate its role in the overall development process.

The two sides also discussed the idea proposed by Suleiman on the establishment of an Investment Bank in Syria in order to contribute to the financing medium and small industrial projects in better conditions.

Both sides agreed to prepare a complete study on the issue to be presented to the officials.
