Moroccan human rights association holds rally on international human rights day
Morocco, Politics, 12/11/2002
The Moroccan human rights association (AMDH) held in Rabat on Monday a rally to mark the international human rights.
Human rights advocates representing various non-governmental associations and organisations chanted slogans claiming the respect of human rights and the truth on "economic crimes" referring to the embezzlement of public funds.
Appeals were also made for the adoption of international conventions on human rights and for the harmonisation of Moroccan laws with relevant international covenants. They also called authorities to proclaim Dec.10 as a paid non-business day.
AMDH chairman told MAP the rally marks the association's resolve to carry on struggle with other rights groups for the establishment of the rule of law and a society of citizens.
