Libya: Arab League is outdated
Libya-Regional, Politics, 12/10/2002
The secretary general of the people's committee for foreign relations and international cooperation in Libya Abdul Rahman Shalqam has described the Arab League as an expired antibiotic. In statements issued yesterday by the London- based al-Sharq al-Awsat daily, Shalqam called on the Arabs to form a new league that strengthens their ties and unify their word in confrontation of foreign aggressions through founding the Arab federation and establishing a united Arab military alliance similar to the NATO.
