Syrian minister confers EIB official

Syria's Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Ghasan al-Refaee, received yesterday in Damascus a delegation representing the European Investment Bank headed by Jim McFerson.
Talks during the meeting dealt with following up the execution of the Memo of Understanding signed between the Syria and the European Investment Bank on financial cooperation through the transfer of projects to the private sector and to ensure a credit line for financing some small and medium projects of the private sector.
The two sides also discussed a joint venture of establishing a Syrian Development Bank in the form of long term loans and stocks.
