On Mousa's visit to Russia

The secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa left Cairo yesterday for Moscow in an official visit to Russia during which he will hold talks with the Russian officials on the current situation in the region especially in Iraq and Palestine and means for consolidating the Arab-Russian relations.
In a statement before his departure Mousa said that he would discuss with the Russian officials the necessity of dealing with the Iraqi question through the Security Council.
He expressed satisfaction over Iraq's cooperation with the international inspection teams and its implementation of the resolution 1441 for reaching a peaceful solution to the Iraqi question, explaining that there are no pretexts for dealing a military strike against Iraq..
He stressed on the importance of the Russian move, within the frame of the international action, for putting an end to the Israeli continued aggression against the Palestinian People and for implementing the international resolutions concerning the Arab - Israeli conflict.
