Kalabsha Island in Aswan turned into open Graeco-Roman museum

The culture ministry is celebrating late this moth the end of a project to rejuvenate and rescue the temples on the western river Nile archaeological island of Kalabsha some 30 kilometers south of Aswan in preparation to receive visitors for the first time in 40 years after an international salvaging campaign led by UNESCO in the 1960s.
ΚΚΚ Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni said the island of Kalabsha, which hosts five temples, will be turned into an outdoor museum of Graeco-Roman antiquities.
