Discussions at the Arab League on the Somali situation

The secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa has discussed with Somalia's foreign minister and minister of finance Youssef Hassan Ibrahim and Hassan Mahmoud Sheikh, respectively, latest developments concerning the situation of the Somali area and the efforts made to establish peace in Somalia in light of the Somali reconciliation conference, currently held in the Aldourit city in Kenya, with the participation of all Somali sides and forces.
In a statement following the meeting, the Somali foreign minister said that all Somali sides have an agreement to achieve reconciliation and peace in Somalia as well as to have a united government.
He said he had asked the secretary general of the AL to have the Arab states revitalize the Fund in support of Somalia which was approved by the recent Beirut Arab summit at a capital of US $ 56 million.
Meantime, an official source at the AL said that the AL chief promised the Somali mini ministerial delegation to promptly move at the Arab arena in order to support the efforts of rebuild Somalia through inviting the Arab ministerial committee on Somalia to convene a nearby meeting in Cairo in order to discuss an Arab effort plan and to revitalize Somalia's support and Fund.
