Prime Minister Mohamad Mustafa Miro received today vice president of the Italian parliament Mr.Clemente Mustella and an accompanying delegation.

Talks during the meeting dealt with means of developing relations of bilateral cooperation especially in the parliamentary domain.

Talks also dealt with the exchange of expertise and means of encouraging the establishment of joint economic, commercial and investment projects and the necessity of implementing the agreement of partnership with the European union.

The two parties reviewed the latest developments in the region especially in the Palestinian arena in light of the inhuman practices of Israel against the Palestinian People and insisted on the role played by Europe for the realization of a just and comprehensive peace in the region based on the UN resolutions and the principle of peace for land.

The two parties stressed on the necessity of enabling the Palestinian People to liberate their land and to establish their independent State on their national soil.

Regarding the Iraqi question Miro and Mastella stressed on the necessity of adopting the peaceful means and underlined their refusal of an eventual strike against Iraq.

Its note worthy that the Italian delegation has arrived in Damascus yesterday evening on an official five day visit to Syria.
