The conferees will discuss means of revitalizing political work according to the slogan "capabilities and commitment" and discussing means of developing parliamentary work in preparations of the parliamentary elections due to be by the beginning of 2003.

The sources told the paper in statements issued yesterday that the basic attitude of the conference lies in revitalizing the political work in the framework of the National Progressive Front with the possibility of expanding it, noting that each and every of the party submitted written proposals in this context for developing the parliament.

The paper, on the other hand, said that controversy still continued between the two wings of the Communist parties chaired by Wisal Farha Bikdash and Youssef Faisal on the ground of a dialogue held by representatives of the two sides in the framework of developing political work, and after Daniel Nemeh proposed the issue of expanding the front by including the civil society group. This is however, pushed Wisal Farha Bikdash to saying "I am against oppressing anyone or jailing him just for his views or ideas. But I am against the one who brings in foreigners to the homeland under the pretext of defending freedoms."
