Khartoum welcomes American support to the negotiations
Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othman Ismael yesterday welcomed the American efforts made to arrange for the talks in Washington between the government and the rebels of John Garang, while Khartoum had criticized the announcement made by the rebels to demonstrate the new Sudanese currency "Pound" which is linked to the US dollar to be used in the areas that fall under its control in the south, despite the continuous peace process in Mashakos.

Al-Rai al-Aam: On the Iraqi opposition conference
The Kuwaiti daily al-Rai al-Aam has stressed quoting opposition Iraqi sources that the number of participants in the Iraqi opposition conference in London on the 10th of this month will exceed 300 persons. The paper said that this conference resembles the "well-known Berlin conference which was held by the Afghani groups before the collapse of the Taliban movement."

Four Palestinians killed; Israel destroy 15 houses in Hebron
The Palestinian youth ( Majd Odeh) was killed while other 20 were wounded during the Israeli forces breaking into the city of Jenin and opening fire against citizens, while the city and neighboring areas witnessed storming in operations and arresting scores of Palestinian youths, including the two officials in the Islamic Jihad movement, Muhammad Aqel and Murad Hasanin.

The Algerian earthquake monitor has announced that an earthquake hit on Sunday Hammam Abu Isa area, 480 Km from the capital Algiers. News reports said that the earthquake was 15 Km to the north of Hammam Abu Hajjar, but indicated that no casualties nor material losses were inflected.
