Egypt organize world conference on petrochemical industry
Politics, 11/30/2002

Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum will hold conference on petrochemical industries in January.

ΚΚΚ The conference will be attended by representatives of world oil companies and foreign and Arab financing institutions, as well as experts from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC).

ΚΚΚ Minister of Petroleum Sameh Fahmi said that the conference coincided with carrying out an Egyptian strategy to enter the petrochemical industry and set up an independent entity for executing plans and programs to establish 14 complexes for that industry, including 150 projects whose annual products sales would hit US $ 7 billion.

ΚΚΚ The minister said that the strategy and its plans, which cost US $ 20 billion to be carried out over four five-year plans, would create 100,000 job opportunities for Egyptian youths.
