In his weekly lecture on Friday, Sheikh Keftaro called on world Muslims and Christians to coordinate their efforts and to support the Palestinian people to restore Jerusalem to be the Palestinian's capital.

Meanwhile, Al-Yarmouk camp in Damascus witnessed today a mass rally on the anniversary of Jerusalem Day.

In Cairo, the Arab League issued a statement marking the Jerusalem Day where it criticised "silence of the international community regarding the Israeli daily crimes and brutal practices."

The statement called on the UN to "force Israel to commit itself to the international law" stipulating the complete Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories to June 4th 1967 line for realizing the just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East.

In the meantime, Iranian President Mohammed Khatami underlined that "the Israeli aggressive policy and brutal crimes violate the international resolutions and threaten the security and stability in the Middle East region as well as the whole world."
