Al-Shara confers with Japanese ME envoy

Foreign Minister Farouk Al-Shara received in Damascus on Thursday the first Secretary of the Japanese Foreign Minister, Toshimitu Motegi and members of the accompanying delegation.
Talks during the meeting dealt with the latest regional and international developments, particularly in the occupied Palestinian territories and in Iraq.
Mr. Shara stressed the importance of enhancing the UN role in dealing with the international questions through imposing the respect of the international legitimacy, the implementation of the UN resolutions without selective application and the double standards.
Talks also dealt with the friendship relations connecting Syria and Japan and means of enhancing cooperation between the two countries in all fields.
On the other hand the Director of the Second Section of the Middle East Office in the Japanese Foreign Ministry Ipuchi held a press conference in Damascus Thursday evening over the visit of Motefi to Syria.
Ipuchi stressed the excellent relations linking Japan to Syria and the two countries willingness to develop and consolidate these relations in all domains.
