Damascus's Islamic -Christian meeting concludes positive recommendations

Participants in the Symposium on the Islamic-Christian meeting concluded in Damascus yesterday and underlined the importance of deepening dialogue between Christians and Muslims.
In a communique published yesterday evening at the conclusion of the works of the Symposium, the participants condemned the "aggressive and inhuman practices of the Israeli forces of occupation in the occupied Palestinian territories and their violation of the Christian and Islamic holy sites."
The participants condemned threats launched against Iraq and insisted on the legitimate rights of all people to resist for their independence and liberty.
Speaking about the conference which was held during the Symposium, the participants underlined the importance of the efforts exerted by the oriental churches, and the international council of churches in favor of the Palestinian cause.
The participants also affirmed the importance of consolidating relations of fraternity and cooperation among all religious, human, civil and historic levels.
On the other hand, patriarch Ignatius IV Hakim, Patriarch of Antioch and all the East for the Greek Orthodox offered today an Iftar Banquet in honor of the participants in the Symposium.
