Syria, Bahrain for boosting trade relations

Syria's Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade, Ghasan al-Refaee and a Bahraini Commerce Chamber delegation headed by the Chamber Deputy, Yousef al-Saleh discussed yesterday cooperation in the banking sector between the two states and the possibility of establishing Syrian- Bahraini joint bank in Damascus.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the basic principles and the future steps to establish the joint bank that will boost ties between the two states.

The two sides discussed the standing commercial relations between the two states and ways to boost them in the interest of both countries. The minister briefed al-Saleh on the investment atmosphere in Syria and reviewed with him the possibility of establishing Bahraini holding company for investment in Syria.

The two sides visited the Commercial Bank of Syria to discuss the future steps for the establishment of the bank.
