King Mohammed chairs meeting to assess flash flood situation

Morocco's King Mohammed VI chaired in rabat on Tuesday a meeting with several cabinet members and advisers to assess the situation entailed by flash floods that hit several regions of the kingdom, claiming more than thirty lives and considerable material damage.
During the meeting, the sovereign inquired about the situation of flood-stricken populations in Settat, Berrechid, and Mohammedia, Morocco central regions.
Meeting also focused on measures taken so far to bring medical and material assistance to the suffering populations.
The king was given an overview of the program devised by Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity to supply to flood-stricken area's populations food and various daily needs.
The king gave his instructions to start protection works of Settat-Berrechid highway, immediately after the subsidence of water levels.
The meeting also examined the current situation of Samir oil refinery that was damaged by a fire that broke out Monday night and which came completely under control on Tuesday before midday, claming however two lives.
