Jordanian King in Moscow: Russia is the sound of logic
Jordan-Russia, Politics, 11/27/2002
The Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Jordanian king Abdullah II have expressed their desire to strengthen relations between their two countries in the military and economic fields. This was expressed during the fourth visit of the King to Russia since he ascended to the throne in Jordan in 1999.
In his meeting with the Jordanian King, Putin referred to a "token gift" delivered by a Russian delegation to a Jordanian delegation at a military exhibition in Amman in October. It was the ornamented sword used to be carried by the father of the first Abdullah Grandfather, as a symbol of "the accelerated technological and military relations " between the two countries, as the Russian President said.
For his part, the Jordanian King welcomed Russia's leading role in the Middle East and stressed that "Jordan and its neighbors consider this very role as the voice of the rightful reason" in dealing with the region.
Worthy mentioning that the Jordanian King visited Russia in July this year and he will discuss with the Russian President bilateral economic relations.
Moreover, Russian oil companies are taking part in a bid to erect an oil pipeline between Jordan and Iraq at a length of 750 Km and at a cost of USD 250 million.
