Qaddoura highlights People's Assembly legislative achievement

Speaker of the People's Assembly Abdul-Qadder Qaddoura indicated on Tuesday that the Assembly has achieved during the 7th legislative course a series of achievements represented by the approval of many decrees, laws legislation as well as agreements with Arab and foreign countries.

He indicated in an interview broadcast by the Lebanese TV network LBC that such activities would reflect positively in the interest of the citizens and accelerate the wheel of the economy.

He reviewed some of his Assembly's achievement such as the law on creation of private banks.

Regarding the UN. resolution 1441 regarding Iraq, Qaddoura underlined that Syria voted in favor of the resolution after a careful study taking into account the highest pan-Arab interest into consideration.

He underlined that Syria worked with France and Russia and telephone contacts were made between President Bashar al-Assad and his French counterpart, Jacque Chirac, and UN Secretary General Kofi Anan.

He indicated that the resolution has ended the possibility of the war.
