Ethiopia releases Eritrean prisoners

Ethiopia yesterday released all Eritrean war prisoners held by it, totaling 1568 military man including two army colonels The statements issued by the Ethiopian foreign ministry to this effect said that Ethiopia released the prisoners according to a peace agreement signed on December 12, 2000 in Algeria, which put an end to the war between the two countries erupted in 1998.
The statement added that transporting the prisoners to Eritrea started yesterday.
Worthy mentioning that the International committee of the Red Cross supervises the operations of transporting the war prisoners since its beginning in December 2000.
