Algerian- Syrian joint statement boosting relations

A joint statement was issued yesterday in Damascus on the visit of the Algerian National Reform Movement Party to Syria.

The statement stressed that the visit of the Algerian party to Syria was warmly welcomed and came in the framework of the standing bilateral coordination and cooperation in the face of the current threats against the Arab nation.

For its part,the Algerian delegation expressed satisfaction over the meetings which were held with Assistant Secretary General of the Baath Arab Socialist Party, Abdallah alAhmar, Speaker of the People's Assembly, Abdul-Qadder Qaddoura, and Deputy Minister of Local Administration, Imadul-Din Sabri.

During these meetings,view points were exchanged regarding the various issues of mutual concern.

The two sides expressed desire to promote relations between the two parties in the service of the Arab nation.

The two sides stressed their "support to the struggle of the Palestinian people and their heroic Intifada."
