Yemen: Some 1000 prisoners were released

Yemeni governmental sources said that some 1, 000 prisoners will be released, in implementation of directives given by the Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh for the government. The sources indicated that the prisoners who are expected to be released before the fall of Eid al-Fiter are those who are sentenced in criminal cases most of them relate to citizen's rights.
Also included are prisoners who spent more than two thirds of their imprisonment term in similar cases which do not include cases on deliberate killing or kidnapping crimes.
