European Parliament calls for suspension of agreement with Israel

Representatives of all French political parties and European Parliament (EP) members urged the suspension of the association agreement between the European Union and Israel.
ΚΚΚ The move is intended to force Israel to respect human rights and implement international resolutions.
ΚΚΚ They called on France to prepare a bill to suspend economic cooperation with Israel, similar to that on which the Belgian Parliament is set to vote.
ΚΚΚ In a meeting of French, European and Arab officials on Wednesday amid tightened security, Alimah Boumedienne, member of the EP called on all EU countries to implement the EP's historic resolution that was issued in Strasbourg last April, demanding the suspension of the association agreement with Israel.
ΚΚΚ The resolution contains a recommendation for the enforcement of Article 2 of the agreement, which stipulates the suspension of all articles of the agreement in the event of one of the parties not respecting human rights.
ΚΚΚ Boumedienne demanded Israeli products manufactured in the Palestinian territories be banned from European markets, referring to Israel's record of human rights violations, which include the assassination of Palestinian leaders, the murder of children and demolition of homes.
