Nasrullah: Israel rejected a proposal for exchanging prisoners

The secretary general of the Lebanese Hizbullah party has commended the support given by Syria and its leadership to the Lebanese national resistance.

In a speech he delivered in a celebration by the commission in charge of supporting the Lebanese national resistance in Beirut on Thursday evening, Nasrullah said that Syria had supported the Lebanese resistance in its struggle to liberate the major part of the occupied Lebanese territories. He called for making use of the current regional and international conditions in order to restore back the usurped rights from the Israeli occupation.

He disclosed that Israel had rejected a proposal on exchanging prisoners with the Lebanese national resistance. He explained that the Lebanese national resistance gave during the past few months a proposal for the German mediator in which it called for seperating the issue of the prisoners and hostages so long as a comprehensive agreement on this matter is not possible and difficult.

He added that Israel told the German mediator that it is ready for solving this file partially or wholly because the government of Sharon is facing a very great political difficulty in this regard. Nasrullah explained that the proposal given by the Lebanese resistance covers all Lebanese prisoners in the Israeli jails as well as Arab and Palestinian detainees.
