Washington intends to withdraw some of its diplomats in Jordan

A high ranking official at the US Department of State said yesterday that the non- essential American diplomats in Jordan and their families will be shortly permitted to leave this country because of fears pertinent to their security.
This official who asked to be anonymous stressed that the Department of State decision is not linked in great part to the threats imposed in this country. But he indicated that security conditions have not improved since the assassination of the US diplomat Laurence Folley on October 28.
