The Arab Follow Up Committee 's final communique

The Arab Follow up Committee issued yesterday in Damascus the final communique which focused on the main causes and challenges which face the Arab Nation, on top is the Palestinian cause, Iraq and the necessity of implementing Beirut Arab Summit resolutions.

The Communique underlined the necessity of commitment to Beirut Arab Summit and activating Arab solidarity in defence of the Arab Nation interests and in safeguarding her right and national security and realizing economic integration for the establishment of Arab Joint Market.

The Communiqu? also stressed adherence to the Arab Peace Initiative which was approved unanimously by the Arab and International parties, due to the fact that is the only base for realizing the full Israeli withdrawal from the occupied Arab territories and the establishment of the just and comprehensive peace in the region.

Regarding Iraq, the Communique underlined that the UN Security Council resolution No./1441/ doesn't give the right to any military action against Iraq, stressing the necessity of end threats against Iraq as to enable the international inspectors to achieve their mission.

The Communique stressed on the necessity for the Arab countries to Commit themselves to the requirements of the Arab Trade Free Zone and working for the creation of this zone by the year 2005.

President Bashar Al-Assad on Thursday received the Arab FM s took part in the Arab follow up committee of Beirut Arab summit.

Earlier in the day, the emergency meeting of the Arab Follow up Committee concluded activities and the Arab countries Foreign Ministers left Damascus after their participation in this meeting.
