Saudi Arabia, Politics, 11/21/2002
The Saudi minister of the interior Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz has unveiled that there are more than 100 convicted persons held in custody for investigation on terrorism charges.
In statements issued yesterday by the Saudi daily al-Jazeera, the Saudi minister added that investigations were made with certain accused persons. He explained that the number of arrested persons in Saudi Arabia on terrorism charges is exaggerated and does not reach thousands as rumored. He said that those who are now interrogated are less than 100. He also said that the Saudi who was arrested three days ago after he was hit in his leg has links to terrorism.
