Sudan's refuses Uganda's request on chasing al-Rabb army fighters
Sudan-Uganda, Politics, 11/20/2002
The Sudanese government has rejected Uganda's request to renew the presence of its forces in southern Sudan in order to chase the fighters of "al-Rabb army" movement because Kampala did not respond to conditions set by Khartoum.
The Sudanese foreign minister Mustafa Othamn Ismael said in a speech he delivered before the Sudanese national council that the Sudanese government will maintain a similar treatment of Uganda in case no agreement is reached concerning al-Rabb army. He added that relations with Uganda, which supports the rebels movement in Southern Sudan, are complex and that a Sudanese presidential envoy will head for Kampala during the few coming days in order to deal with these issues.
