Saudi ministry denies wounding of security men in clashes with Bin Laden's supporters
Saudi Arabia, Politics, 11/19/2002

The Saudi ministry of the interior has denied the wounding of 8 Saudi security men on Saturday evening in a clash with persons suspected to be supporters for Osama Bin Laden.

In a statement quoted yesterday by the Saudi news agency, an official source at the Saudi ministry of the interior said that what was stated by the mass media to this effect is groundless. He indicated that the heart of the matter is that when the so called "Muhammad al- Saheim ( who is wanted in a security case) was arrested when he was in one of the public places in Riyadh, he tried to flee away and resist, and opened fire at the security men who were able to arrest him after he was injured in his leg).

The source stressed that no security man was attacked or injured.
