Libya: No deal to give political asylum to Saddam's family
Libya-Iraq, Politics, 11/18/2002
Libya has deliberately denied information published by the British "The Times" which said that the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein is ready to pay Billions of US dollars to Libya in order to grant political asylum for members of his family.
The spokesman for the Libyan foreign ministry Hasounha al-Shawish said that these "news are baseless and fabricated," noting that those who campaign for these rumors aim at damaging Libya.
The "Times" had said that the Iraqi President is ready to pay billions of dollars to Libya in order to offer political asylum for members of his family and certain members of his regime if the US launches a war against him.
