Turkey's Ardoghan meets with an Israeli delegation
Israel-Turkey, Politics, 11/16/2002

The Turkish Ikhlas news agency yesterday quoted well-informed sources in Ankara that an undeclared meeting took place last Monday between the chairman of the Turkish Justice and Development party, Rajab Ardoghan, and a high ranking Israeli delegation during which the two sides discussed the future of Turkish- Israeli relations.

The sources indicated that tempting offers given by the Israeli delegation to Turkey to continue joint strategic alliance, especially Israel's vow to ensure a sum of 20 billion dollars to be provided to Turkey by the International Monetary Fund and giving aid to the next government of Turkey in order to get out of its economic crisis, and the inclusion of Turkey to the trade agreement signed between Washington and Israel in order to allow Turkish products to enter the American markets tax exempt.

Worthy mentioning that the Turkish ambassador in Israel Vernon Oglo had stressed during his recent meeting with the chairman of the Israeli Knesset Avraham Burg that Ankara will continue its warm relations with Israel, expecting that no change will happen in these relations following the Justice and Development party's win in the recent Turkish parliamentary elections.
