Al-Watan: Stumbled US contacts with the US on the Iraqi issue
Syria-USA, Politics, 11/14/2002
The Saudi daily al-Watan said in its yesterday issue that Syrian- American contacts pushed by the Arab League to pressure the US to accept large number of Arab experts in the inspection teams for weapons in Iraq are being stumbled.
The paper quoted a European diplomat who has close relations to the UN saying that Syria is disappointed in its contacts with the US, noting that the latter ( the US) finds it unjustified to have a large number of Arab experts and suspects the neutrality of the committee's decision in case such a heavy Arab presence is maintained.
