Bahrain: a government of 18 ministers

As expected, the new Bahraini government was formed without any change in what is called "leading positions," with the introduction of 6 new ministers and foundation of certain ministries.

However, the most important in the new government is the introduction of the chairman of the Islamic work league ( Shiite ) to this government and appointment one of the former leaders in the Bahrain liberals ( Ahrar) movement as a minister of justice.

Yesterday, the King of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, issues a royal decree stated to appoint members of his new government under the chairmanship of his uncle Sheikh Khalifa Bin Salman al-Khalifa. Each of the ministers of the interior, foreign affairs, the information and defense preserved their posts while two other ministerial sources were formed as two deputies for the prime minister by former minister of Islamic affairs Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khaled al-Khalifa and the foreign minister Sheikh Muhammad Bin Mubarak as a second deputy premier.

The new Bahraini government was joined by one of the King's advisors for economic affairs Hassan Fakhro who was appointed as a minister of industry ( a new position).

Fakhro had the post of the first director general of Bahrain's national oil company "Banco" which was established by the beginning of the 1980s. he at the meantime runs the oil investment company.

The former leading figure in Bahrain movement liberals Majuid al-Alawi was appointed the minister of labor and social affairs.

Among the new faces which entered the ministry is the chairman of the Islamic League Muhammad Ali al-Satri in the ministries of the municipalities and agriculture as well as the chairman of Bahrain's university Majid al-Nueimi who had the post of the ministry of education and the chairman of the physicians Union. Khalil Hassan who assumed the post of the ministry of health. The former Shoura council member Abdul Hussein Mirza was appointed as a minister of state.

Among the ministries founded in the new Bahraini government were the ministry of industry, the ministry of state for the Shoura council affairs assumed by Abdul Aziz al-Fadel, who is a former minister of education as well as the ministry of municipalities and agriculture.

The new government also annexed the ministry of housing to the ministry of public works which was assumed by Fahmi al-Jawdar, the minister of public works in the former government.
