Iraq accuses Turkey of violating its airspace
Iraq-Turkey, Politics, 11/11/2002

In a message addressed to the Arab League (AL) on November 5th, Iraq accused Turkey of "holding an aggression against it through repeated violations of its airspace in the northern part of the country."

Iraq has called on the Arab League to interfere in order to put an end to Ankara's "provocation." The Iraqi message accused Turkey of "providing facilities for the American and British forces which monitor the no-fly-zone in northern Iraq." The message added that the "repeated Turkish aggression constitutes a violation for the Iraqi airspace and a flagrant violation for the UN charter and UN Security Council resolutions and totally in contradiction with the rules of the international law and the principle of good neighbor."
